Carl Segvich graduated from the University of Illinois in 1985 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences. In 1988, he was a candidate for Delegate to the National Republican Convention, to represent Jack Kemp for President of the United States. He traveled to Bosnia-Hercegovina and Croatia in 1993, joining an international “Task Force”, (Matica Iseljenika), to assist orphanages housing children orphaned in the Yugoslavian Conflict of 1990-1995. Segvich met with the first President of Croatia, Dr. Franjo Tudjman, appearing in Croatia’s newspaper Vecernji List. He worked as a mental health technician at Chicago’s Mercy Hospital from 1995 to 2001. As an assistant to doctors of psychiatry, Segvich monitored, worked with and aided patients with drug addictions, mental disorders and dual-diagnosis. Segvich is a publicly elected official in Chicago, serving in the unpaid volunteer position of Republican Committeeman in Chicago’s 11th Ward, since February 5, 2008. Segvich appeared in several Chicago television media interviews, and authored several commentaries published in various newspapers including the Washington Times and Chicago Tribune. Carl ran and completed six Chicago Marathons from 1994-1999.
